The Continent of Africa is located in the western side of the eastern hemisphere and is the second largest continent in the world. It is south of Europe and southwest of Asia. Currently, there are over 314 million Africans who receive less than $1 per day and it is home to 34 of the 48 poorest countries in the world. Regarding Human development, Africa has 24 of the 32 countries that were ranked lowest. At the moment, they are constantly struggling with the HIV/AIDS crisis while malaria is killing nearly 2,800 people per day.
