About Us

Team Leader: Stephanie

Currently, I am a junior in high school. As I grew up, I continuously learned about my father’s past. How he and his family survived the Cambodian civil war that began in 1975. Although I am a beginner with all of these technologies, researching for the content of this website was an opportunity that has caused me make new realizations; like what can actually happen in this world, things that may appear invisible solely because it doesn’t directly impact my life.

Nevertheless, I have always had a hard time working in groups because I find it impossible for me to adjust to everyone’s individual personalities. Honestly, at first I had the hardest time getting along, but overtime, I’ve grown to appreciate all the members in my group and greatly thank all of them for coming together with me to make this work out.

My name is Paul. I'm a sophomore in High School located in Seattle, WA. I am African American and White. My web experience is beginner. I enjoyed creating this site as a team. I made the people page and I learned alot about people in third world countries while making this website.

I am a junior in High School and Ethiopian. I moved to the United States two years ago. I’m a medium skilled web maker. This year at the program called Upward Bound, we were told to form a team of four to make an educational-based website on any topic we are interested in. So as a team we came up with a topic that focused on the Third World. Having come from one of the countries of the Third World, I chose to focus mainly on the African continent in general. Meanwhile, making a website about this topic requires technology familiarity which I was barely good at and so I first took a step to learn web design which became a challenge in the very beginning. But I did overcome some of my uneasiness. I now consider myself a medium web designer. Surely I wouldn’t acquire web design knowledge if it wasn’t for the TTQ class I took. My coach helped me to the best she could and I have a sincere gratitude for her help.

Wyman
I currently attend high school (Class of 2008) in Seattle, WA. I am 16 years old, Chinese, and usually caught sleeping in class. My level of web experience is more of a beginner, but I do know what I’m doing most of the time. In this group, I was responsible for most of the site’s design along with researching on the solutions and effects section. During the time we made this site, I learned how to use the basics of Dreamweaver along with Photoshop. The obstacles I overcame during this time were looking around for the right articles and pictures to build up our site. Along with this, I had to work with different types of people I haven’t worked with before. We didn’t get along all the time, but we still got the site done. I’ve learned more about the situations of third world countries around the world after this along with how it affects us all worldwide. TTQ was a fun course and I would like to do it again next year if I have the chance.
