What were some battle tactics?

Grandpa: Well there not so much because when we were about to go to yellow river at that time we had month they were what foxhole at that time there was a little suspicious just like moving around foxhole you better stab it with the bayonet because tat Chinese and mostly young people were been in war before and very few were just like me an old timer and I was in charge of my platoon and I told him not to come out of foxholes because they just stab us stab u I said by the time you are out in then you looking who there is they already stab you waiting for you so they didn’t believe me so that is what cause so many casualties.
