KMT was a society that lasted over 5,000 years. Kemetians beleived in everlasting life and preserved the body so perfectly that they have been discovered intact after thousands of years. This preservation is commonly known as mummification. All of the major organs were removed and placed in canopic jars. Each canopic jar had a special meaning.

Major Organ Canopic Jar
1. Lungs Hapi (baboon)
2. Stomach Duamutefla (dog)
3. Liver Imseti (human)
4. Intestines Qebehsenuef (falcon)

Mdw Ntr was written throughout the temples and tombs. An example of funery Mdw Ntr is shown below. The purpose of the Mdw Ntr was to retell the persons life, tell some of their history and inform the reader of the history of their society.
