World War II lasted for about 6 years, from 1939 to 1945. There were more people that died in this war and properties destroyed than any other war. There was about seven causes of War World II; the Peace of Paris, economic problems, nationalism, the rise of dictators, military aggression, the Spanish Civil War and the failure of appeasement. There were about 59 countries involved (Stokesbury).

There were many of economic problems after the first World War. The cost of World War I was big, and it took time for countries to rebuild towns and get new jobs for the soldiers that were returning. The people were mad and argued against Communist and Nazi governments.
The military aggression began when Italy, Japan, and Germany started occupying other small countries around the 1930’s. The first act that that historians believe triggered War World II was the act of the Japanese attacking Manchuria, China.
