We are students of the University of Washington Upward Bound program. This is a summer college preparatory program aimed at high school student. The program is located in Seattle, Washington and incorporates three schools from the Greater Seattle Area. Students are handpicked from each school to join the Upward Bound program. They must go through a series of applications and testings. The program is specifically designed to help low income families or if one is the first to go to a four-year college within one's family. Students who apply must be a freshman or sophomore in their high school. If the students who applied qualify those criteria, then they must take a placement test to determine which classes they will take. During the summer, the students take intensive courses that are designed to simulate a college atmosphere. The students are pushed to perform to the best of their abilities and are helped along the way by many counselors that are in the program. These classes help them in the college application procedures and the criteria that most colleges demand. We hope you enjoy the site.
