Brunei is a tiny oil- rich country located on the northeast corner of the Borneo Island. It is widely known for its tax free society, its wealthy sultan ruler, and its small population of around 300,000. The people of Brunei "enjoy one of the highest per capita incomes on earth" because of their low number of citizens (Brunei Darussalam). Its capital is Bandar Seri Begawan which is the most active city, although the entire country is pretty somnolent. The rest of the country is undeveloped, "unexploited and untouched by the outside world" (Brunei Darussalam). Moreover, alcohol is unobtainable and there is no night life. This causes the Brunei people to be very reserved and force them to conform to the sayings of their sultan. This provides them with "free healthcare, education and sporting centers" (Brunei). Also these citizens receive cheap loans and high tax free wages.
Ultimately the country has an "area of 5,765 sq km and is divided into four districts : Brunei-muara, Tutong, Belait and Temburong" (Brunei in Brief). 69% of the population is Malays, 18% Chinese, and 7% indigenous tribes. The three languages spoken in this country are English, Chinese, and Malay. The religious breakdown is "65% Muslim, 15% Buddhist, and 10% Christian" (Brunei).
