to our site! This site was created as an entry to the Trio thinkquest web designing contest. We created this site in our web design class at PSU. We're not college students, we are just high school students involved in the program called Upward Bound that allows us to take college courses during the summer, and also after school during the regular school year. Neither of us knew anyone else in this class, so we decided to be in a group together. then we had to go through the trouble of thinking of a topic since both of us were ok with doing anything. Finally volunteering was suggested so we just went with it. a little into our research though, we got asked by a staff member here at upward bound if we would make them a volunteering site for the upward bound program. we agreed to do it because it wasn't that difficult to change in our early stages. so we started meeting with this person, gathering our information, and even designing our site. it was going great until, when days later we find out that because it is Upward bound related, it would be best if we didn't do this topic. so this agravates us a bit, but hey its ok we'll just go back to our original idea and try to create that other site for Upward Bound later. Only now we find out that our other this topic is too broad and we need to change it. instead we decide to just narrow it down a little to volunteering in the Portland Metro Area.

Our Website has a wealth of infomation about some of the volunteer programs, which are currently available in Portland, such as Hands on Portland, Oregon Food Bank, Community Cycling Center, Habitat for Humanity and Volunteers of America. We hope to help more teenagers and their families' members to reach out to our community. Thus, a variety of helpful and educational activities are promoted to lighten others lives.
