pH- The maximum range is between 6.5 and 8.5. In all of our results were in this range. |

TDS- For this standard, the maximum is 500 ppm. This is based on taste and not health considerations. Most of our examples were above this level. |

Hardness- The maximum for drinking water is 180 ppm. Hard water can cause incrustations in pipes and other equipment. All of the river water is classified as very hard. |

| • 0 to 60 mg/L as calcium carbonate is classified as soft | ||||
| • 61 to 120 mg/L is moderately hard | ||||
| • 121 to 180 mg/L is hard | ||||
| • Greater than 180 mg/L is very hard | ||||
