Race Day Written by: Kyra
From blood, sweat, and burning arms Practice days are really hard Now we are at the race, ready to go, as the flags whip to and fro. Hands are sweating, grip is tight, paddles up with shocking fright, stomachs turning, heavy breaths, that pounding feeling in our chest. Paddles up, green flag go; now everybody take control. Muscles are tight, some in pain. The boat is gliding with every unified stroke. As you get to the end, your breath intensifies, and you just give it your all, with the crowd yelling and cheering you on. You feel the pain but you still push on. Passing the flags with joy or tears, paddling memories through out the years!
