Education after the
Khmer Rouge...
Public
School System:
After the People’s Republic
of Kampuchea (PRK) was formed, in 1986, many institutions
were created, including the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy
and the Institute of Languages. The whole education system
in PRK was based very closely on the Vietnamese model. Also
schooling in towns and country sides need enrollment fees
in order to go to school. Civil servants have to pay twenty-five
riels (Cambodia’s currency) per month, and the others
have to pay 150 riels per month.
