Africa
has been haunted by the AIDS epidemic. It has taken countless lives
and the death toll is continuously growing. 28 million people live
with AIDS in Sub Sahara Africa. AIDS claimed 900,000 lives in South
Africa during 2001. Three million children today are left with one
parent or none. 600,000 people everyday in Sub-Saharan Africa die
of AIDS related illnesses. These are just some of the few facts of
the AIDS crisis. However, people in Africa are still living with a
positive spirit, and have hopes and courage even though death is just
around the corner.
The industries, economy, and education are being affected as the result
of AIDS. Africa is in need of attention and awareness.
