Solutions
to AIDS with Education
The cure for
AIDS hasn't been found, and so far, research and education are the only
method to help curb the spread of the disease. Many organizations, like
the Community Health Corps are developing community centers that will
educate people about HIV/AIDS. Their first step in making their community
successful is going out to gather youth to participate in their activities
so they can have more interactions in being more comfortable with the
issue (NewsRX, p25).
Other countries are taking actions on educating people about HIV/AIDS
also. Like the Republic of Congo, they have trained 1,939 teachers about
preventions of AIDS. As a result of this project, it reached many children.
So far, 3,099 students have become peer educators (Africa News Service,
p1008315u2414).
Another thing that the UN is involved in is incorporating an effort with
World Bank officials. Their plan is to hopefully send boys and girls to
primary school by 2015, and their goal is to reach 115 million children
(Africa News Service, p1008291u3220).
The World Bank has also taken some actions by cooperating with other countries
and organizations to help Africa with the impact of AIDS (Africa News
Service, p1008128u560).
