A Graph Of Childrens with AIDS |
The
most devastating effect of AIDS in Africa is on the lives of innocent
children. It is the biggest nightmare Africa faces. Infants who
have contracted HIV from their mother have reached a number of two
thousand daily in the world. But what’s most shocking is that
95% of those infants are born in Africa. Also in the world today,
at least six thousand children lose one or even both of their parents
daily. Again, 90% of those children loosing parents are all from
Africa. Worldwide, about 1600 children die due to AIDS. Sadly, 90%
of those children are raised in Africa. One of the most important
concerns is the mothers who are pregnant in Africa but do not have
adequate health care or enough education that may help them decrease
the risk factor from transmitting HIV to their child.
Children in Africa affected by AIDS create poor outcomes and developments
for the future of the continent. It is estimated that in 2010, Africa
will have 20 million orphans and they all will have AIDS. This effect
will leave Africa devastated because 20 million of these children
will face challenges in pursuing an education and also because they
will be in orphanages. It is most likely that they will grow up
eating poor meals and having less access to proper health programs
and sanitary conditions. As these 20 million children are left homeless
in Africa, their chances of succeeding in the workforce are low.
