More than the dancing and singing, there are feeds which are announced by the MC. There are also other feeds where only friends and family members are invited, which are less common. Feeds are hosted by different families for various reasons, mainly for honoring an elder, celebrating a birth, marriage, or a celebration of a dead loved one’s life. Feeds are huge meals, where many families gather to eat, share, relax, and visit. Sometimes there are other activities that go on such as singing, stories, and in some cases, condolences or congratulations. There are a variety of foods from fry bread to elk to deer to buffalo to Indian tacos to camas to bitterroot to moss. Far from traditional feeds, they tend to serve pop, chips, beef, chicken, and cake. Often, both modern and traditional foods are eaten by guests of a feed.

As the last powwow is ending, people begin to start repairing, adding to, or redoing their outfits. Outfit making is a long process that includes many different materials. Some outfits are made of buckskin, yarn, beads, or feathers. Sinew has been replaced by tread, grass replaced by yarn, quills replaced by beads, and brain tanned buckskin replaced by leather buckskin. Since there are so many different kinds of dance, there are many different outfit styles. Back in the day, outfits were made after the person had a dream of a design or a scared animal. Most traditional outfits have a unique design, color, or animal on their outfits. Now, people use neon colored cotton, sparkly material, or company trademark like the Nike swoosh.
