• Each day 1,205 people die in the United States from smoking.

• 440,000 deaths each year are due to smoking.

•  1 of every 3 deaths of older men that smoke a pack a day is related to smoking.

•  People 50-74 years of age are less likely to quit.

• Smokers are twice as likely as non-smokers to develop Alzheimer’s disease
