Heart attack occurs in most African Americans and is caused by an increase in blood pressure.  Increased blood pressure causes blood to have difficulty traveling through blood vessels, which leads to heart strains and damaged vessels.  Lack of awareness, deficient health education, poor nutritional habits, obesity, and overworking are some factors that contribute to heart attack.  Another risk factor is high blood cholesterol, which is a result of diets high in meat, eggs, and dairy.
