            To avoid asthma, one should avoid the ailments that trigger it.  This means not to smoke because smoking makes it that much easier to get a viral respiratory infection and it decreases the amount of airflow to and from the lungs.  Do not come in contact with allergens such as pollen, and try to stay out of places that particularly have industrial buildings that give off air pollutants.
