Much of our clothes, food, and common household items come from factories located around the world. In the United States, child labor is no longer considered a major problem. However, in many poverty stricken developing nations, child labor is still a large part of the labor industry. Millions of innocent children are forced to work under deplorable working conditions and for extremely poor wages. Due to the lack of government protection, children’s basic rights and needs are being ignored.
Our website, The Path of Innocence, intends to educate people about the facts of child labor, causes and the effects, children’s rights, their experiences, and ways to help improve their quality of life. Through this interactive and educational site, visitors will be able to take an up-close look at the realities of child labor and perhaps discover how to make a difference in a child’s life. Children may have small voices and may be incapable of changing things;but we have a responsibility to eliminate child labor.
