Angels play an immense role in many religions throughout the world.
Angels are not at all momentary, however. They appear to be permanent
throughout our history. The Biblical and Korean angels appeared
to be only of male dominance, yet the Persian and Babylonian angels
are believed to have female angels equal of rank. All of the Swedenborg
angels were believe to be once mortal and human in a form of resurrection.

"From Zoroaster and on, apocalyptic expectations flourished
and made their way into Judaism and its heretical child, early Christianity,
and then into Islam, which sprang forth from Jewish Christianity.
Zoroaster is the ultimate ancestor of the Millennium, even as his
angelology initially engendered the angels who came to throng in
Judaism, Christianity and Islam."
-Omens of Millennium (Harold Bloom)
