adaptations | approaches | teaching methods | considerations | advice Because no two dyslexics are alike, applications of the varied methods should be individually tailored to. The instructor should involve the student in a variety of presentations within the curriculum. For example, when studying the subject of Shakespearean Literature, the assignment of writing poems with a specific number of syllables is assigned. Not only should the poems be written in the form of the words but also drawn in pictures; maybe even a movie should shown to give insight of that era. There are slow readers, who benefit from such techniques using read along books. Others who have difficulty copying information with illegible handwriting should be given the option of typed handouts. Oral tests should be provided with a tape recorder since there are those who articulate well but struggle with written and timed tests. |
