Coaches

Byron
Why are you our coach?
"I provided the tem with technical support. For the most part, I assisted the team with Macomedia Dreamweaver and showed them how to create quizzes using online resources."
Position you hold:

"For most of the year, I teach physics for the University of Washington Instructional Center. During the summer, I teach two web desgin classes for Upward Bound- Trio ThinkQuest and UB web."
Advice you have:
"The key to any good site is structure and content. Interactivity adds to a site provided the first two elements are met otherwise it's useless. Work on your site continuously- don't wait until the last minute.
Donna
Why are you our coach?
"I really like what Yahui and Tammy are doing with the Angel Island Site. Not only is it informative, but the site provides visibility of those Americans who are a forgotten, but real part of what our history and country is. Not only does this site outline the mystic of the Angel Island experience, but it illuminates the voices of those who were there. It has been a pleasure to help facilitate the process of research and writing that has gone into this site."
Position you hold:
Research & Writing Instructor
Advice you have: "You guys did a great job on brainstorming, summarizing soliciting permissions, designing and writing! All I can say is --do it the same way
next time!"

Sharon
Why are you our coach?
"I loved the topic, Angel Island, and the possibilities it presents for a wonderful educational website. But mostly, I'm your coach because I like you guys! My job as a coach was specifically to encourage, advise, nurture you as a team. Another portion of my duties as a coach was to edit the research writing and to suggest where each memeber could find additional resources."
Position you hold:
TRIO ThinkQuest Instructor & Coach, IC Instructor, UB Instructor, TRIO Trainer, EOP Bridge Academic Director
Advice you have:
"My advice is to continue in the same manner in which you involved yourself in your site. Remain dedicated, motivated, creative, and open in all that you do."
