In desert conditions it is extremely important to protect your body
from the tremendous heat and bright sun. The first way to protect
yourself is by finding shade or appropriate clothing. The second is
by finding shade or creating a make ladder shelter out of the few
natural resources available. If trees are scarce a ladder shelter
is easy to create and will have you out of the sun in no time at all.

1)
Find a relatively flat and clear area.
2) Find at least 12 large rocks and a tarp or cloth that is large enough
to cover your entire body.
3) Make two columns of 3 sturdy rocks for the high end and two columns
with 1 sturdy rock for the low end.
4) Place tarp over the rocks.
5) Secure the tarp with one sturdy rock over each column.
Congratulations!
You now have made a ladder shelter.

Tips:
It is not possible to create this shelter, then remember you can get
protection from the sun in desert country by draping a coat or shirt
over a shrub or cactus. Any shade you find or make will be helpful.
