More About Me

My name is Vitaly , and I am a fifteen-year-old student from Chelyabinsk, Russia. This is my second year in the Thinkquest competition; my first website was about mountains and my favorite sport, mountain climbing. The website focused on the beautiful and forbidding Pamirs in Russia. I enjoyed working hard as part of a team, and I was pretty sure I would participate in ThinkQuest again.

This year I was a member of an international team with an American student, Kate , and another Russian student, Sergei . The topic suggested by Kate seemed very interesting to me, because it uniquely combined elements from different areas related not only to biological evolution, but also to culture, language, and philosophy. I believe that the fascinating results are obtained from research involving many fields of science at once. In the future I might participate in such interdisciplinary research programs.

My major responsibilities were Java programming and translating the site content into Russian, but I also assisted in other aspects of the site's development.

I am very grateful to my teammates for all the hard work they did to create this well-integrated final product. I would also like to thank our coaches Nadejda a and Vladislav Farafontov for their useful suggestions and support.
