User Accounts
The functionality of Calsoft varies depending on the user. There are four types of users who can access the software. The lowest and most standard type is simply the Public User. He or she can view the calendar and view events, but has no special privileges, i.e. adding and editing events, or adding and editing categories.
Next up in the cosmic hierarchy of Calsoft we find the Subcategory Editor. Subcategory Editors have the privileges of viewing the calendar in common with the public user, as well as (after logging in) the additional privilege of adding events within his or her designated subcategory. A Subcategory Editor can also edit events, but only those which he or she has created.
Moving up the chain we find the Subcategory Admin. These users have the privilege to add events to their subcategory, as well as edit any events within that subcategory, regardless of who originally created the event. Subcategory Admin can also manage and create Subcategory Editors. If a Subcategory Admin has authority over more than one subcategory, he or she may assign a Subcategory Editor privileges in any or all of those subcategories.
Now we find ourselves at the top of the user hierarchy, the Super Admin. This is the hear-all, see-all, know-all, all-powerful god-user of Calsoft. He/She has the privilege to add events in any category and subcategory, the privilege to add or remove any user, and even the privilege to add, edit, or remove privileges associated with users. The Super Admin should be treated with great deference.
