CURRENT COUNTRY MUSIC

Today's country music has seen the most popularity in the history of country music. This success is do in part to the style of music and the artists that our currently out on the country music scene. Right now in current country music there are two distinct group of performers. These two groups are the old school country music and the more modern form of country music.

The old school form of country music has more of a cowboy song. They use basic guitars and do not use synthesizers like the modern form of country music. Some performers in the old school type of country music that a person could see in person are George Strait, Alabama, Travis Tritt, and Reba McIntyre.

The more modern form of country music is perhaps the most popular music today. The modern form of country music has a sound that is similar to pop music. As a matter of fact some of the country performers in this category currently have songs on the pop chart list and the country music list. The most popular performer in this category right now is the Canadian born Shania Twain. Shania currently has a new CD out called Up! Up was the fastest selling country music album ever. Other performers that are at the top of their game right now are Deanna Carter, Terri Clark, the Dixie Chicks, and Tim McGraw. Country music has taken off in the last couple of years and shows no signs of slowing down.
