FLORIDA ALLIGATOR

Although alligators are common in Florida, it is unlikely you'll see one like this on your vacation. They are found mostly in low marsh areas around the waterways of Florida or in alligator attractions. Alligators are cold-blooded. That's why they live near water, to help control their temperature. Alligators do not sweat. They either splash into the water or open their mouths wide. Alligators are carnivores, like the Florida panther.Alligators were hunted or killed for their hides. The alligator population got smaller and smaller. The alligator is now protected by laws.
