Lesson 1: ADJECTIVES
Other cases of descriptive adjectives occur when the
adjective DOES follow an article.
Example: Ich schaue
den guten Film. (I
am watching the good movie.)
Once again, an ending is applied because gut
is used as a descriptive adjective. The
specific ending depends on the gender, the case of the noun that it
modifies, and the type of article it follows.
The table below summarizes the rules of applying
endings to descriptive adjectives following a DEFINITE article or DER-WORD.

Keeping with the example before, gut became guten
because it follows a definite article den and because the noun it
modifies, Film, is masculine and in the accusative case.
Hence, the correct ending for the descriptive adjective is -en.
