Lesson 3: MODAL AUXILIARY VERBS

When using a modal, it may be used alone, or with another verb.  For present tense, the modal goes where the main verb normally would (usually the second position), and the non-modal verb is moved to the end of the sentence. 

Example!

Ich muβ meine Hausaufgaben machen.

I must do my homework.

Sie können miteinander Volleyball spielen.

They can play volleyball with each other.

Ich mag diesen Film am meisten.

I like this movie the best.
