Lesson 1: PERSONAL PRONOUNS

When the personal pronoun is the direct object of the sentence, it is used in the accusative case.  Some verbs are used in conjunction with accusative pronouns. The accusative personal pronouns are shown below.

First Person mich (me)

uns (us)

Second Person

dich (you)

euch (you all)

Sie (formal ‘you’) Sie (formal)
Third Person

ihn (him)

sie (her)

es (it)

sie (they)

Finally, personal pronouns can also be the indirect object of the sentence.  Some verbs are used in conjunction with dative pronouns. The pronoun forms in the dative case are as follows.

Ihnen (formal ‘you’) Ihnen (formal)
