Lesson 1: ALPHABET

The first column indicates the letter.  The "Name Pronunciation" column tells you how to pronounce the letter in German, and the last column, "Sound," tells you how to sound the letter in a word.  Finally, the last column gives an example of the letter used in German!

Click the name pronunciation to hear a clip of German speaker saying the name of the letter.  Click the sound phonetics to hear the sound each letter can make!  You can also click on the example words and hear them spoken as well!

It is important to be familiar with the pronunciations because it will help you speak better German.  Study these at your leisure and your German will improve!
