(1/2) Vernon L. Smith - Born January 1, 1927 in Wichita, Kansas, U.S.A. Earned a Ph.D. in 1955 from Harvard University. He is currently associated with the Interdisciplinary Center for Economic Science. Won the Nobel Economics prize for having established laboratory for the study of alternative market mechanisms.
