Hephaestus(he-Fee-stus or he-Fess-tus) was the god of metalworking and fire. He is the god of all smiths. Hephaestus built many of the weapons and buildings up on Mt Olympus.

Hephaestus's parents were Zeus and Hera. In some myths just Hera gave birth. His children were Erichthonius, Cacus, Caeculus. His one sibling was Hebe. Hephaestus had three beautiful wives, they were Aphrodite, Charis, and Aglaia.

Hephaestus was the only god who was phsically ugly. Since he was ugly Hera threw him off Mount Olympus. When he returned, Zeus banished him and threw him off Mount Olympus and caused him to be lame.

Hephaestus molded the first woman out of clay. He named her Pandora.

Hephaestus made many things including Zeus's lightning bolts and the palace atop Mount Olympus. He forged his tools from a volcano beneath the Earth's surface. His tools would later be stolen by Hermes.
