Celebs Speak Out!!

You would be surprised to notice just how many artists disagree with piracy and they would be surprised to know just how many actually commit piracy! Though technology has helped inspiring musicians to “get recognized” and offered a lot of promising opportunities for them, many think they should be given the right to acknowledge just how much of their work can be publicized on the internet. Artists like

Blink-182                                 Britney Spears

                                                                                            Alanis Morissette

 Barenaked Ladies

                                    Christina Aguilera

                                                                                     DMX

Filter

Metalica

Bon Jovi                       Bryan Adams

                                                    Faith Hill

Garth Brooks          Hanson

                                                   Herbie Hancock

  Nanci Griffith                             Primer 55

                             Saliva

                                                    Sarah McLachlan                                          Shelby Lynne

 Sisqo                                 Vertical Horizon

These are just a few popular artists who have helped form the A.A.P., or Artists Against Piracy League. The actual organization presently includes 70 artists but it’s mind- boggling just how many artists are beginning to speak out. The number grows each day. Musicians with many different styles are in the league.

What Are Their Intentions?

Many artists are already upset with just how far piracy has gone over the Internet and how many persons have done nothing about it. We all know just how virulent the Napster case was. Well, many musical artists hope to solve this problem once and for all in a variety of methods:

Making numerous, individual ads in popular, public magazines

Establishing an official web site @ www.artistsagainstpiracy.com (how original)

Creating a media campaign for colleges all over the world to take a look at piracy in the view of the artists
