John Dickinson was a Loyalist during the Revolutionary War. During the signing of the Declaration of Independence, he resigned from the congress. He said that he could not be part of a treason to his own country, England. He did not sign, but went to fight with the Continentals against his own will. He later wrote some of the Liberty Song, and was known very well-known for it. He was also known for changing to a Patriot after others signed of the Declaration of Independence, but he was never known as a traitor.
