Marijuana: Facts for Teens

Mind over Matter- Marijuana

Marijuana comes from a plant called Cannabis sativa. Some other names for marijuana are maryjane, pot, weed, and grass. The plant fibers have been used to make products like cloth, paper, and rope. The plant's leaves are the part used for the drug. You can use the leaves by chewing or inhaling them into your body by smoking. It can be used in some foods like brownies or cookies.

Marijuana slows your reaction time and makes easy things seem more difficult. Marijuana is also bad because it interferes with your motivation and your ability to learn. Marijuana can also cause relaxation, reduced coordination, reduced blood pressure, and sleepiness.

Marijuana can also be used as something good. Marijuana has been used to help a small number of people with medical problems. The drug has been prescribed to them by their doctors.

For most people, marijuana is horrible for them. It slows your reaction time, interferes with your learning abilities and motivational skills. From my opinion, you should never use this drug.
