Voices From the Past: The Holocaust
From left: Greta, Rachel, Peter, Abraham, Esther, Elizabeth, and Sarah
We come from the past to educate you about the Holocaust. There are seven of us, seven fictional voices calling out to you to remember.
Abraham, patriarch of the Rosen family, is the oldest. He has lost lifelong friends to Anti-Semitism, but that is only the beginning of his suffering.
Esther, the loving mother, possesses a wish for her children to live happy lives. These dreams are shattered because of brutality.
Greta, Abraham's sister, has a husband who died in World War I in service of a country who betrayed her.
Elizabeth, the oldest child, was born in 1924. She remembers life before Hitler and wishes to return to her former happiness.
Rachel and Peter, twins born in 1929, are deeply emotional. They stay together in their journey through hell.
Sarah, born in 1936, is the youngest voice, writing only once. She is hidden in convents and homes during the war, but her experience is traumatizing for her age.
