Our animals are going fast,
how long will the rest last?
From the largest whale to the smallest bird,
all of the animals need to be heard.
With pollution in the air,
soon some animals will not be there.
Habitat loss is one cause,
the animals have no place to put their paws.
Not all of us are part of this act,
some people are helping and that's a fact.
We know extinction lasts forever,
let's save what we have together.

Let's Make Extinction 'Extinct'

Did you know that animals are continuing to disappear from our planet? Believe it or not 99.9% of all species that have ever existed on Earth are now extinct!  That means no one will ever be able to see these animals again.  Wouldn't you love to see a saber tooth tiger or a wooly mammoth? Unfortunately you can't because these animals no longer exist.

Out of the six to ten million species that live on our planet today, we have only identified about one million of them! That means we should take really good care of what we have.  You can help.  By learning about these animals and what caused them to become extinct, you can help preserve the animals we have today. Visit the Take Action page to learn about things you can do and visit our other pages to learn more about one of our most important resources - animals!
