bears are one of the most well known animals in the world.
But, these giant and gentle beasts are very endangered.
Recently, there have been many reports of poachers killing grizzlies.
Poachers like this are after the grizzly bears’ fur and claws.
Grizzlies
live on three continents, Europe, Asia, and North America.
In the area between Asia and Europe (Eurasia), they live as far south as
Iraq and Greece.
Some are also kept in Yellowstone National Park. Grizzlies
are one of the largest members of the bear family.
Grizzlies weigh from 330 to 794 pounds (90 to 800 kilograms).
Usually, female adults weigh less than adult
males. Grizzlies
eat small mammals, berries and
vegetation. But
breeding When females are five to seven years old, this is when they have their first newborn cubs. Females give birth to new litters about every three or four years after that.
