Protect Our Animal ResourcesOn our home page we told you that over 99% of all species that have ever existed on Earth are now extinct! This isn't too surprising since species of animals and plants will always become extinct. It is a natural process of selection commonly called 'survival of the fittest.' However, there is a difference between this natural process and what many scientists believe is a  rapid acceleration of this process by the activities of man.

By learning about the animals that are no longer with us, we will appreciate what we've lost. People have the ability to destroy the world's animals, but we also have the power to save and preserve them.
