WHAT ARE SPREADSHEETS
Spreadsheets are used in
many ways. A spreadsheet
can be used to calculate a grade in a class, preparing a budget for the
next few months, or to determine payments to be made on a loan.
Worksheets are
computerized spreadsheets. A
collection of related worksheets are called workbooks.
In the worksheet, there are columns and rows.
Columns appear vertically and are identified by letters at
the top of the worksheet window. Rows
appear horizontally and are identified by numbers on the left side of
the worksheet window. A
cell is the intersection of a row and column and is identified by a cell
reference, the column letter and row number (for example, A2, B14,
G9).
