DVD (Digital Video Disk) has been around since 1993 when a company called Nimbus demonstrated the disk in France recorded on MPEG-1 at double density. Since then, the industry has expanded and now DVD is as readily available as VHS. Now, you can watch many movies which have been converted to DVD. The format of a DVD is able to store 17 gigabytes. This compares to about 600 song files recorded on MP3.
