Do you dial-up? If so, you may have heard the familiar ring associated with dial-up modems. MODEM?! What's a modem? Well, a MODEM is a MODulator DEModulator. In short, it takes in information and makes it useful for human use. Although phone modems can be installed and used easily, they are being outdated as cable modems are replacing them. Phone modems only travel at speeds of 28.8k and 56k and less. Below is a picture of a modem.
