The advancement of our knowledge in genetics marks one of the most important accomplishments of humankind. But along with this new knowledge, as with many new ideas, there comes a time when people disagree over the application of it. Cloning and genetically modified (GM) food are some of these applications that people disagree about. Some think that they are good and that the march of progress cannot be hampered by possible implications, and others think that we should tread more cautiously in these areas where we have little or no knowledge of the consequences that may arise.
