Fishing

The Northwest Coast Indians use lots of fishing tools like spears, hooks, harpoons, and seal scratcher. In the Arctic they used the seal scratcher made with a real seal claw and a handle.

The kind of spear they used was called a 3-pronged fish spear and it had one point in the middle and two points on the side and they would spear the fish with the middle point then the two other points would get the fish in the side.

The hooks they used were made out of stone, ivory, and sometimes out of wood.
One type of harpoon is the Makah whale harpoon made with a copper blade and bone spurs/ barbs, and sinew rope wrapped with cord casing which was used to catch whales.
