In 1902, they wore shoes like "Cothurmuses" which were women's shoes, "Peros" which are men's shoes, "Gallicas" which were women's shoes, and "Campaguses" which were men's shoes. They also wore "Calceuses" which were men's shoes and "Endromises" which were women's shoes. The shoes they wore were very different from those today and they cost a lot more. Instead of boots, they wore "Buskins" which were women's shoes, "Chinese boots" which were where men's shoes, and Black satin boots which were women's shoes. Instead of sandals, "Mules" which were men's and women's shoes. 
    They also wore Chinese Slippers which were women's shoes. If it was hot outside, they would wear "Getas" which were women's and men's shoes. If it was spring, they would wear "Pedilas" which were women's shoes. In the fall they would wear "Moccasins" which were women's and men's shoes. Today we wear different types of shoes like flip-flops, tennis shoes, and sandals. 
They also wore "Slap Shoes" when they were dancing. They wore "Escarpins" which they wore on special occasions. The "Blucher" was used to help them get through snow. The "Wellington Boot" is a tall boot with a heel and is used for riding horses, cows, bulls, etc... A shoe called the "Bear Paw" was used to make it easier to hunt for bears. 
A "Monks Shoe" is a warm, soft, cushioned shoe used for when you're just walking around the house. The "Ducks Bill Shoe" was used for a fashion in schools in Mississippi. The "Cavalier Shoe" was used for fast country dancing. The "Beatle Boot" was also used for dancing only it was used for slow soul music. The "Oxford Shoe" was also used as a fashionable attraction.
 In 1902 they considered the "Jewel Shoe" the best shoe. It was honored and was only worn by queens. 
There are four main kinds of shoes. One is a casual and dress shoe. The second main type of shoe is a sports shoe. The third main type of shoe is a work shoe. The last main type of shoe is a corrective shoe. 
There are a lot of parts in a shoe. One is a toecap, which is located on the front top of the shoe. The vamp is located right beside the toecap. The trim is located on the saddle which is located at the waist (middle). The tongue is the top part that sticks out. The inner lining is located right by the tongue and is on the side. Top line is where you put your foot in only it is not the inside it is on the outside. The collar is located on the top in the back. 
The outsole is the  part that on the side of the shoe. The insole is located on the bottom of the inner lining. The heel breast is located in the top corner of the heel. The top piece is located at the front of the heel. The heel is located at the back on the bottom.
