J. K. Rowling

    Joanne Kathleen Rowling was born on July 31, 1965. Her first story was written when she was 6 years old, called Rabbit. Joanne also had a sister named Di, who was two years younger than herself.  

    Miss Joanne Kathleen first graduated at Exeter University. At age 26, Miss Rowling moved to Portugal to be an English teacher.  She married a Portugal Journalist and had a daughter named Jessica who was born in 1993. Soon after her daughter was born J. K. Rowling got divorced. She soon moved to Scotland, with her daughter, Jessica, to be with her sister. When she was taking a long train ride from Manchester to London, England. J. K. Rowling said, "Harry Potter just fell into my head. At that point it was essentially the idea for a boy who didn't know he was a wizard, and the wizard school he ended up going to." J. K. Rowling writes any time, any place, and in long hand, which is very unusual to most writers.
