All About the Books
J. K. Rowling wrote many books. She started her career as a writer when she wrote a book called Rabbit when she was six, but the books that make her so popular are the Harry Potter series. Harry Potter and the sorcerers stone took her five years to write, but at the same time, she was also planning out young Harry's adventures in the second through sixth book. She worked very hard at her writing and soon found out that if she tried to rush her ideas then it would just be harder to write. When J. K. Rowling published her first book, she signed it J. K. Rowling instead of her full name Joanne Kathleen Rowling. She signed it like that because she was afraid that if people knew it was a girl who wrote the Harry Potter series then they would never read it. Although she did a great job on all the books, she wasn't satisfied with the ending of the first book. She thought that it would not meet the readers expectations because it was very hard to draw it to a close. Joanne Kathleen Rowling wrote many books since then all having superb adventures in Hogwarts School of Witch Craft and Wizardry, which all end with the anticipation, of not being able to wait to read the next book.
Many of Joanne's book have received awards. They can be seen on our Fun Facts page.
