Journal: ...we broke through! After years of researching and surveying we finally did it. I peered down into the dark cave like stairway and new that this discovery might be a one in a lifetime experience. Before I made my decent down the stairway I stopped and with my candle peered into the hole in the doorway. Inside I saw gold artifacts everywhere and knew that this had to be one of the richest tomb ever uncovered. After seeing all these beautiful artifacts I began my decent...

During the Egyptian Dynasty there were many pharaohs and kings but some in particular stand out...
King Tutankhamen also known as King Tut was nine when he became an Egyptian Pharaoh. This is why he is commonly referred to as the boy king. Although he was a pharaoh his life wasn't real interesting. The thing that made him famous was his tomb when it was discovered in 1922 by Howard carter. Inside Carter saw the glint of gold everywhere. During Carter's searches he found thousands of objects such as six chariots, furniture, and hundreds of figurines to serve him in the afterlife. Another interesting thing about King Tut was the curse that was supposedly left on his tomb. Many people believe that there is a curse because when Lord Carnarvon came back from visiting Tut's tomb he died. Newspaper all over said that the tomb was cursed and that it was the blame for 24 other deaths. The odd thing about this curse is that Howard Cater didn't die after discovering the tomb so do u think this curse is real? |

Ramses ruled Egypt for about 67 years. He was a fierce warrior who fought against Egypt's enemies with a highly skilled army. He was a conceited person you could say, because he built the most monuments and tributes to himself than any other pharaoh. He fathered at least 90 children. Unlike King Tut, Ramses had an enormous tomb. His burial chamber was 2,000 square feet which is about the size of a small house and had an arch ceiling that crested at 23 feet. Even the entrance way was big, since it descended down over 150 feet under the Valley floor. |
