Fantasia

Fantasia is a two-hour mixture of different musical pieces and characters. It is one of Walt Disney’s biggest and best masterpieces. It includes things from dancing hippos and alligators, to Frost Fairies, to Mushroom Dancers, to fighting dinosaurs. Each ballad has music performed by the Philadelphia Orchestra conducted by Leopold Stokowski and every piece matches very well with what it is portrayed as. But, the most famous ballad is “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.” This is where Mickey takes his master’s sorcerer’s hat and uses it without permission. He has much fun with it, until things get out of control and he gets caught.
This great movie won two Academy Awards in 1941, the Special Award for Sound and the Special Award for Music. I think that he deserved both of these very much because of his devotion and surprising work.
